Floods and landslides triggered by days of heavy rain have forced more than 70,000 people from their homes and left at least 19 dead and seven missing, authorities in Indonesia's West Sumatra province said on March 10, 2024. Padang, the capital of West Sumatra province, and eight other districts have been hit by severe flooding since February 29, inundating nearly 700 homes, dozens of Bridges and schools, and 113 hectares of farmland in the region.
