Hundreds of rescue workers searched through mud and debris on Wednesday following multiple landslides that have killed at least 151 people in southern India. The landslides occurred in hilly areas of Kerala state's Wayanad district early Tuesday, causing widespread destruction, including the flattening of houses, uprooting of trees, and destruction of bridges.
Authorities reported that 186 people were injured, and 187 individuals remained unaccounted for. Over 8,300 residents have been relocated to 82 government-run relief camps.
