Description
Storm "Bert" made landfall in the UK on November 22, bringing strong winds, heavy snow, and torrential rain. Some areas recorded up to 130 millimeters (5 inches) of rainfall within 24 hours, resulting in severe flooding. At least five people have died, with over 500 homes and businesses in Wales and England inundated by floodwaters. The storm caused widespread power outages, and major disruptions to train and flight services. Wales, England, and Scotland have declared a state of "major incident" in response to the crisis.
